Shieldfast Windows & Siding does not have a crew that shows up at your door. When you make a request, you are put in touch with an independent provider in our network. That provider is a local business that does window replacement or siding installation. They are the one who looks at your house, writes the quote and does the work.

What Happens on the First Conversation

Think of it like a doctor's first visit. Before anyone suggests a fix, they ask questions. A provider will usually want to know:

• How old your house is
• Which windows or walls are giving you trouble
• What you have noticed, such as drafts, damp spots or fogged glass
• Whether past work has been done

For window projects, providers usually look for at least two windows. Repair-only jobs are not part of this service.

They may then set a time to visit and measure. After that, you get a written quote. It helps to jot down notes during the visit, so you can compare each provider later without relying on memory.

What to Ask a Provider

A short list helps you compare fairly. Try these questions:

• Can I see the quote in writing, with materials and labor listed?
• How do you handle hidden surprises, like rot behind old trim?
• What window or siding options suit an older home like mine?
• Do you pull permits when they are needed?
• What is your license and insurance status?
• How long will the work take, and what will it ask of me?
